We offer unique firearm instruction courses for every level of shooter. From teaching the basics to fine tuning the skills of those with more experience, our classes will suit a wide range of interests from the practical to the tactical, in a fun and low key environment that stresses safety above all else.
One of our specialties is teaching inexperienced shooters who want to learn the basics about firearms and understand the fundamentals of shooting but are intimidated by shooting centers and a culture that can appear daunting. We welcome families, teens, seniors, women and men who simply never learned much about guns.
We also teach executive and travel security and awareness for the family and business personnel (including kidnap awareness training), non-lethal defense and home defense.
Want something more personal? Paladin is available to provide private or customized lessons, pistol fitting and consultations for individuals, families and groups. Our time is your time. Pick your location, ours or yours.
All of our instructors are NRA certified and are either current or former members of the U.S. Army’s Special Forces (Green Berets), international Special Operations personnel or SWAT trained Law Enforcement officers, with years of experience. They make Paladin courses interesting, fun and “non-threatening”.
Firearms Courses

Basic Pistol:
Our NRA certified Basic Pistol courses are taught in a classroom environment, or in your home, with practical shooting practice at our ranch facility or a nearby indoor range. Participants develop comprehensive firearm safety skills in addition to an understanding of the workings of firearms, calibers, types of firearms and their uses, how to clean and store firearms and solid shooting fundamentals. Included in the course is the opportunity to earn the Basic Handgun Qualification patch, the first in a series of marksmanship qualifications programs available through the NRA.
The Basic course is perfect for the rank novice up to more experienced shooters who want to hone some rusty skills, or for family members who are around firearms in the home and want to develop their familiarity. We also offer safety equipment and firearm rentals, personalized pistol fittings, and even realistic “dummy” pistols for those new to sport shooting and who may not initially be comfortable firing the real thing.
Paladin’s NRA Basic Pistol Certification will qualify you to apply for a concealed weapon permit (CWP) in the State of Colorado.
Advanced Pistol:This advanced level course is conducted at a private shooting range on the plains of Eastern Colorado where we offer a combination of paper and metal targets for enhanced learning and enjoyment. This class offers some of the finest personalized instruction available and includes learning techniques such as draw and fire, multiple targets, multiple firing (“double tap”), firing from concealment and many other skill sets. You will hone your abilities, shoot more in one day than many people shoot in a year, and have lots of fun seeing just how good you can be with your pistol.
Tactical Carbine Courses:
Whether you own a carbine or just want to learn how to shoot one, we will take you from the basics of safety, nomenclature, handling, sighting and firing, all the way to tactical defensive exercises on our outdoor range near Kiowa. Carbines are fun to shoot, have almost no recoil, and can turn into a hobby all by themselves. Bring your own or use one of ours. This class is a hoot!
Long Range Rifle Course:
Want to learn how to place a piece of lead in a very small space at a very great distance? We can help with that. Our instructors are graduates of the best military sniper schools and can help make you a distance shooter like you can’t believe. Available as private instruction only.
SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. WE HAVE ZERO TOLERANCE FOR UNSAFE ACTS ON THE RANGE.
WAIVER REQUIREMENT: All students will be required to sign a waiver of liability and acceptance of range rules.
Personal Security Courses
Non-Lethal Defense Training:
If you are interested in learning the basics of awareness and self defense in a hands-on, low impact setting this is the class for you, your friends and family. Paladin offers a distinctive personal protection course that not only teaches you how to assess and avoid potentially dangerous situations, but what to do when you have no alternative. In these situations, we will teach you how to reduce your risk of injury, defend yourself and move to safety. In addition, we explain and demonstrate the use of alternative defense measures such as mace and tasers as well as other mechanical and electronic devices that provide personal safety, barriers to entry or alarm signals, whether in your home or on the road.
Travel Security:
Paladin’s unique Travel Security course will teach students what can go wrong when traveling, how to spot threats, how to reduce the chance of problems and practical tips on making your travel safer and more efficient. Whether traveling for business or pleasure, Paladin has taught this interesting and practical course to many individuals, families and organizations. You will find it informative, humorous at times and well worth your while.
Home Defense and Security:
Is your home a castle with defensive measures or a criminal’s dream home? We will teach you simple, cost effective methods for creating easy to follow family security guidelines and how to set up “defensible” areas in your home. We will also illustrate additional methods to discourage criminals and promote peace of mind for you and your family.
Executive Security Awareness:
Whether traveling individually or on behalf of your firm, awareness is 90% of all security. Learn how to travel and maintain personal and professional security whether your travel is domestic or international. Know how to avoid crime, including kidnapping, and learn what to do if you are kidnapped. Our parent firm also provides risk assessment and mitigation services, including international security and crisis management. We teach business people how to minimize personal and professional risk. If you travel, especially internationally, this course is a must for you.
